FAQ

Guruji Managurunathan said: Ah, it is much more than mere study. Sri Vidya is a living spiritual practice (upasana paddhati). Sri Vidya is an experiential path—a sacred practice (upasana) carefully woven with mantra chanting, the geometric wonder of the Ashta Gandha Sri Yantra / Ashta Gandha Sri Chakra, deep meditation, and ritual worship to awaken inner consciousness and unite the seeker with the Divine Mother. It is what we call “Advaita in action”, where intellectual understanding transforms into direct experience. The divine knowledge you read about becomes your lived reality. Your heart awakens, your mind calms, and you begin to recognize the Divine Mother within yourself—this is the true treasure of Sri Vidya.

Question 4 – Seeker: I have heard about non-duality and Pratyabhijñā in the teachings. How are they related to Sri Vidya?

Guruji Managurunathan: Excellent question. The heart of Sri Vidya is indeed non-dual: the true self you seek is not separate from Sri Lalita. This is the essence of Pratyabhijñā—“recognition.” Imagine waking from a deep sleep only to realize that you were, all along, one with the radiant sun. Similarly, you recognize your own soul as the Supreme Mother Herself, the infinite cosmic consciousness. This realization dissolves all separation, filling you with bliss and liberation.

Question 5 – Seeker: What does Sri Vidya teach about consciousness and existence?

Guruji Managurunathan Replied: Sri Vidya reveals that Chaitanya—pure consciousness—is the ultimate light illuminating everything. This consciousness manifests as countless essences or Tattvas, the building blocks of nature and spirit. Ontological Reality – Chaitanya and Tattva. Creation, preservation, and dissolution are endless cyclic dances of this consciousness-energy play, reminding us that life itself is a divine unfolding and return. Inseparable acts of the divine play, highlighting the continuous flow of consciousness and energy.

Question 6 – Seeker: How does this practice work in the universe? I heard about Srishti and Samhara Krama—is there more?

Guruji Answered: Yes. The Divine Mother operates through three cosmic rhythms—like the rise, stay, and fall of the ocean waves.

Srishti Krama—the creative flow, where divine energy unfolds from the seed point (bindu) of the Sri Yantra outward, manifesting all forms and fulfilling desires.

Stiti Krama—the sustaining energy, preserving the harmony and order of the cosmos and individual life.

Samhara Krama—the dissolving flow, where all manifestations return to their source, symbolizing liberation and the clearing away of karma.

This cosmic dance is reflected in your spiritual journey, balancing the joy of life with the yearning for freedom.

Question 7 – Seeker: What role do mantra and yantra play in this divine union?

Guruji: Mantra and yantra are the sacred keys. The Panchadashi and Shodashi mantras invoke her essence and power. The Sri Chakra yantra is a living map of the cosmos and your own subtle body. Meditating on it focuses your mind, awakens kundalini energy, and guides you to merge with the divine light. They are not objects of superstition but tools of transformation, bridging the outer and inner worlds.

Question 8 – Seeker: And how does the practitioner move forward on this path?

Guruji: Daily practice is crucial—chanting mantras, meditating deeply, controlling breath (Tantric pranayama – Alchemy Breathing Control), and offering fire rituals (homam). These purify your body and mind, awaken your chakras, and help dissolve the knots of karma. The path is a harmonious blend where spiritual awakening and life’s practical blessings grow together.

Question 9 – Seeker: Are there special precautions or requirements to practice Sri Vidya?

Guruji: Indeed, the tradition teaches that initiation (Mantra Diksha) by a qualified Guru is essential. Spiritual maturity and readiness are important to handle the powerful energies safely. The diverse tantric paths—right-handed (Dakshinachara), left-handed (Vamachara), mixed (Samayachara & Mirshachara) —are united within Sri Vidya, and the Guru helps you harmonize these respectfully and effectively. In Sri Vidya Sri Peedam Lineage we are following Naathachara – The essence of all tantric paths.

Question 10 – Seeker: What message does Sri Vidya offer to the world?

Guruji: Sri Vidya is a universal science of potentialities—a timeless message that unfolds love, wisdom, and empowerment. It nurtures realization, prosperity, bliss, and service to all life. It offers a balanced path integrating material well-being with ultimate liberation (Bhoga and Mokṣa). It is a path where the divine Mother welcomes every sincere seeker, guiding the soul back home to her loving embrace.

Seeker: Thank you, Guruji. How shall I begin?

Guruji proudly answered: Start with sincerity and devotion. Seek a living Guru, learn the foundational mantras, cultivate daily meditation, and open your heart.

Remember: There is no difference between living Guru and the universal mother Sri Lalita Tripurasundari.

Sri Vidya is the journey of self-discovery and divine union—each step guided by the Mother’s grace.

In brief, Sri Vidya is a holistic, ancient tradition of the Divine Feminine, which combines ritual, philosophy, meditation, and transformation to help seekers realize their own identity with Sri Lalita Tripura Sundari — the supreme Mother and source of all.
