Sri Guru — Breathe of Awaken Souls’ — The Source of all Lineages of Divine Knowledge — Living Transmission of One Consciousness

Guru Parampara is not a tradition of the past—it is a living stream of awakened consciousness. From ancient sages to realized masters, the transmission flows unbroken, converging into one truth – The Bindu

Śrī Vidyā, meaning “Divine Knowledge,” “Sacred Learning,” or “Cosmic Science,” represents one of the most profound streams of spiritual wisdom, transmitted through the sacred Guru–Śiṣya Paramparā. This timeless lineage is said to originate from the Universal Mother herself, manifesting through revered sampradāyas such as Ānanda Bhairava, Dakṣiṇāmūrti, and Hayagrīva traditions. Among these, Sri Dakshinamurthi and Sri Dattatreya are regarded as the principal Gurus who embody the transmission of supreme knowledge. The Guru Paramparā traces its origin to Lord Śiva, flowing through Sri Hayagreeva and Lord Dattātreya to Parasurama, who revealed the esoteric mysteries of Sri Lalita Tripura Sundari. This sacred wisdom has been carefully preserved and transmitted across generations by realized masters such as Bogar and Maha Avatar Babaji, ensuring its continuity in the modern age. Today, this living lineage continues through contemporary masters like Dr. Managurunathan, who uphold and disseminate the eternal light of Śrī Vidyā for the evolution of humanity.

Many Lineages  • One Transmission • Eternal Consciousness

GURU PARAMPARA / LINEAGES

LINEAGE I — HAYAGRĪVA SAMPRADĀYA

The sacred Guru Paramparā of Śrī Vidyā originates from the Supreme Consciousness itself — Lord Śiva as Dakshinamurthi, the Adi Guru who transmits the highest wisdom through silence (mauna upadeśa). From this eternal source emerged the current of Divine Knowledge that flowed into Hayagriva, the radiant embodiment of transcendental intelligence, mantra śakti, and Vedic wisdom.

Śrī Hayagrīva, revered as the Lord of Divine Knowledge and the illuminator of higher consciousness, revealed the profound mysteries of Lalita Tripura Sundari and the secrets of Śrī Vidyā Tantra to the great sage Agastya. Through the sacred dialogue between Hayagrīva and Agastya — especially preserved within the Brahmāṇḍa Purāṇa and the revered Lalitopākhyāna — the esoteric wisdom of the Divine Mother was transmitted for the upliftment of humanity.

From Sage Agastya, this current of wisdom continued through Siddha traditions and realized masters including Bogar and many enlightened ṛṣis and mahāsiddhas, eventually extending into later Himalayan streams associated with Maha Avatar Babaji. Thus, the Hayagrīva Sampradāya became one of the luminous streams through which the science of Śrī Vidyā, mantra śāstra, and inner realization was preserved across ages.

According to certain Para Tantra traditions, the Hayagrīva Sampradāya is described as an exalted lineage especially prominent in the earlier Yugas, where seekers possessed greater purity, discipline, and subtle spiritual receptivity. In the Kali Yuga, while the lineage continues to exist, its authentic transmission is considered rare and traditionally preserved through highly initiated Guru lineages.

Within this sacred tradition, many of the higher Śrī Vidyā practices — including the Śrī Lalitā Triśatī, Parā Śoḍaśī, Mahāpādukā Vidyā, and advanced Guru Mantras — are rooted in the subtle power of the Hayagrīva Bīja. In these mantric streams, Hayagrīva Mahāviṣṇu is revered as the Ṛṣi (seer) of the mantra tradition, embodying the union of Divine Wisdom and Cosmic Sound.

Traditional Guru lineage invocations associated with this Sampradāya often include:

Parāśrī → Hayagrīva → Agastya → Viśvaksena → Garuḍa → Uddālaka → succeeding Gurus and Siddhas

Within the Sri Vaishnava Sampradaya, Śrī Hayagrīva occupies a uniquely exalted position as the embodiment of supreme knowledge (jñāna svarūpa), revered not only as an incarnation of Mahāviṣṇu but also as the Divine Guru even to Saraswati herself. His worship is especially sacred on Śrāvaṇa Pūrṇimā and on Mahānavamī during Navarātri, when devotees invoke his grace for spiritual illumination, mastery of knowledge, mantra siddhi, clarity of intellect, and awakening of higher consciousness.

The Hayagrīva Sampradāya therefore stands not merely as a lineage, but as a living stream of Divine Wisdom — a radiant transmission of Śrī Vidyā that unites silence, mantra, knowledge, and realization into a path toward the Supreme Mother Consciousness.

LINEAGE II — DATTA SAMPRADĀYA / PARAŚURĀMA SAMPRADĀYA

The sacred Guru Paramparā of the Datta Sampradāya is traditionally traced to Dattatreya, the eternal Avadhūta and primordial Guru who embodies the unified consciousness of Brahmā, Viṣṇu, and Śiva. Revered as Datta, Dattaguru, or Śrī Gurudeva Datta, he is regarded as the Ādi-Guru of several mystical streams including the Nātha tradition, Avadhūta Sampradāya, and higher paths of Yoga, Tantra, and Jñāna.

The sacred traditions describe Lord Dattātreya not merely as a historical sage, but as an eternal cosmic principle of Guru Tattva — the living embodiment of Divine Wisdom that manifests across ages according to the spiritual readiness of seekers. Various Purāṇic and Tantric sources narrate multiple accounts of his manifestation, symbolizing that the Supreme reveals itself in different forms for the upliftment of humanity.

Within the Nātha and Siddha traditions, Dattātreya is revered as the source of the Ādi-Nāth current — the primal stream of yogic realization, renunciation, mantra śakti, and direct experiential knowledge. His teachings transcend rigid religious boundaries and emphasize realization through inner awakening, self-mastery, devotion, yoga, and direct communion with the Divine.

Devotees throughout India celebrate Datta Jayanti, especially on Mārgaśīrṣa Pūrṇimā, through fasting, mantra japa, meditation, Guru worship, homa, and sacred observances to invoke the blessings of Dattaguru for spiritual illumination, protection, and liberation.

From this divine source emerged one of the profound streams of Śrī Vidyā transmission. According to sacred Tantric traditions, the esoteric wisdom of Lalita Tripura Sundari and the mysteries of Śrī Vidyā Upāsanā were revealed by Lord Dattātreya to Parashurama, the sixth avatāra of Mahāviṣṇu and the great warrior-sage of Dharma.

This sacred transmission is especially preserved in the revered Paraśurāma Kalpa Sūtra, one of the foundational texts of Śrī Vidyā Tantra. In this tradition, Paraśurāma is portrayed not merely as a warrior, but as a deeply realized adept initiated into the highest mysteries of mantra, yantra, kuṇḍalinī, and Divine Mother worship by Lord Dattātreya himself.

Through Paraśurāma, this stream of wisdom flowed into the lineages of Siddhas, Yogis, Nāthas, and realized masters who preserved and transmitted the living current of Śrī Vidyā through initiation, tapas, yoga, and direct spiritual realization. Over time, this lineage became interwoven with Siddha and Himalayan traditions, eventually extending into later spiritual streams associated with masters such as Maha Avatar Babaji.

Thus, the Datta–Paraśurāma Sampradāya stands as a radiant stream of Divine Power, Guru Grace, and transformative spiritual knowledge — uniting the paths of Yoga, Tantra, Jñāna, Bhakti, and Śakti into a living tradition of inner awakening.

Within this lineage, Lord Dattātreya is revered as the eternal Guru Principle (Guru Tattva), while Paraśurāma represents the disciplined seeker transformed into a realized master through Divine initiation. Together, they symbolize the transmission of sacred wisdom from Cosmic Consciousness into human realization.

The Datta Sampradāya therefore remains not merely a lineage of teachings, but a living current of Divine Grace — guiding seekers from ignorance to wisdom, from ego to surrender, and from fragmented identity into the realization of the Supreme Self.

LINEAGE III — NĀTH SAMPRADĀYA / KRIYĀ SIDDHA PARAMPARĀ

The sacred Guru Paramparā of the Nāth Sampradāya traces its origin to Shiva himself — the Ādi Yogi, the eternal source of Yoga, Tantra, mantra śāstra, and Divine Realization. As the primordial Guru, Lord Śiva revealed the supreme wisdom of liberation, kuṇḍalinī awakening, and inner transformation for the upliftment of all beings.

From this transcendental source, the current of divine knowledge flowed into Nandinatha, revered as Maharishi Nandinātha, the foremost disciple of Śiva and one of the earliest custodians of the Siddha and Nāth traditions. Through Nandinātha, the sacred teachings of Yoga, Śaiva Tantra, mantra vidyā, and inner realization were transmitted into humanity.

This luminous stream also flowed through the great sage Agastya, the immortal Siddhar revered across both Vedic and Tamil spiritual traditions. Agastya Maharishi became one of the principal transmitters of esoteric wisdom relating to Śrī Vidyā, kuṇḍalinī śakti, mantra śāstra, alchemy, siddha medicine, yoga, and the hidden sciences of consciousness.

Within this sacred lineage, the profound mysteries of Lalita Tripura Sundari and the inner science of Śrī Vidyā Upāsanā were realized and transmitted through direct spiritual experience rather than mere intellectual learning. These teachings emphasized that the human body itself is the temple, the chakras are the sacred kṣetras, and the Divine Mother resides within the awakened consciousness of the seeker.

From Nandinātha and Agastya, the lineage flowed into Tirumular, also known as Sundaranāthar — the immortal Siddhar, great yogi, and one of the revered 63 Nāyaṉmārs of the Tamil Śaiva tradition. Tirumūlar stands as one of the greatest exponents of Siddha Yoga and Śiva Jñāna, integrating mantra, tantra, yoga, devotion, breath science, kuṇḍalinī awakening, and universal spirituality into a unified path of realization.

His monumental work, the Tirumantiram, is regarded as one of the foundational scriptures of Tamil Śaiva Siddhānta and Siddha Yoga. Within its sacred verses, Tirumūlar reveals the deeper dimensions of consciousness, the science of prāṇa, the awakening of inner śakti, the divinity of the human body, and the transformative power of the Guru.

Particularly within the Ninth Tantra of the Tirumantiram, Tirumūlar emphasizes the indispensable role of the Guru in spiritual realization. He teaches that ultimate truth cannot be attained through scriptural scholarship alone, but through direct transmission, inner practice, meditation, and the grace of the realized Guru. The Guru becomes the living bridge between the seeker and Śiva Consciousness.

Tirumūlar declares that true understanding arises through:

  • Seeing the Guru
  • Invoking the Guru
  • Listening to the Guru’s wisdom
  • Meditating upon the Guru within
  • Through this sacred relationship, the disciple moves beyond intellectual knowledge into direct spiritual experience (anubhava).

The ultimate aim of this lineage is not merely philosophical understanding, but living realization — the awakening to the truth that all sacred temples, all deities, and all cosmic forces exist within one’s own consciousness. The true Siddhas guide seekers inward toward this experiential realization, transcending outer ritualism and limited dogma.

Through Tirumūlar and the Siddha streams, this living current of realization continued across generations of Yogis, Nāths, Siddhas, and enlightened masters, eventually flowing into later Himalayan and Kriyā traditions associated with Maha Avatar Babaji and the Kriyā Siddha Paramparā.

Thus, the Nāth Sampradāya stands as a radiant lineage of direct realization — a path where Yoga, Tantra, Śiva Consciousness, Śakti awakening, Guru Grace, and inner transformation merge into the realization of the Supreme Self.

LINEAGE IV — SIDDHA SANMĀRGA PARAMPARĀ

The Siddha Sanmārga tradition stands as a radiant path of Divine Compassion, inner transformation, universal love, and direct spiritual realization. This sacred lineage is profoundly associated with Ramalinga Swamigal, revered as Thiru Arutprakasa Vallalar — the great saint, mystic, poet, and embodiment of Arutperumjothi, the Infinite Grace-Light of Divine Consciousness.

Founded upon the principles of compassion toward all beings (Jīva Kāruṇya), spiritual purity, transcendence of caste and religious divisions, and realization of the Divine Light within, the Siddha Sanmārga path emphasizes direct experiential spirituality over mere ritualism, dogma, or intellectual philosophy. Vallalar taught that the highest spirituality is inseparable from compassion, selflessness, humility, and universal love.

The spiritual current of this lineage is deeply rooted in the grace of Murugan, Shiva, and the Divine Mother Consciousness, integrating Siddha wisdom, Śiva Jñāna, inner yogic transformation, subtle body awakening, and the path of Divine Light (Jyoti Upāsanā).

Vallalar revealed that the human body itself can become transformed through Divine Grace into a vessel of higher consciousness and deathless wisdom. His teachings centered upon the awakening of the inner flame of compassion and the realization of the Supreme Light — Arutperumjothi Thaniperum Karunai — the Infinite Grace of the Absolute.

Within certain esoteric streams of this tradition, the subtle wisdom of Lalita Tripura Sundari and the inner dimensions of Śrī Vidyā were preserved and transmitted through realized masters and Siddha initiatory lineages.

According to this sacred stream, Vallalar transmitted profound spiritual wisdom and subtle initiatory knowledge to Krishnananda Swamigal, who became an important bearer of the Siddha Sanmārga current. Through tapas, devotion, meditation, and divine destiny, Krishnananda Swamigal later journeyed into deeper Himalayan streams of realization.

Traditions associated with this lineage recount that Krishnananda Swamigal received higher initiation (dīkṣā) and spiritual blessings from Maha Avatar Babaji in the Himalayas, thereby integrating the Siddha Sanmārga current with the living Himalayan Kriyā and Siddha traditions. This sacred convergence deepened the transmission of Yoga, inner awakening, Śakti realization, and direct spiritual experience.

From Krishnananda Swamigal, this current of wisdom flowed into Venkataramana Swamigal of Coimbatore and other realized sages who continued to preserve and transmit the living flame of Siddha Jñāna, compassion, Śrī Vidyā, and Guru Grace.

This lineage ultimately extends into contemporary masters including Managurunathan, through whom the teachings of Siddha Sanmārga, Śrī Vidyā Upāsanā, Siddha Yoga, and the path of Divine Consciousness continue to be preserved, embodied, and shared for the spiritual upliftment of humanity.

The Siddha Sanmārga lineage therefore represents more than a historical succession of Gurus — it is a living current of Divine Grace, Compassion, Inner Light, and transformative realization. It calls seekers not merely toward belief, but toward the awakening of the heart, the purification of consciousness, and the realization of the Divine Presence within all existence.

At its highest essence, this lineage teaches that true spirituality flowers as compassion, wisdom, humility, service, and direct union with the Infinite Grace-Light — the eternal Arutperumjothi.

The Biography of Guruji

Śrī Guru – Divya Jīvana Yātrā

Purana Sri Vidyaranya Parabrahma Maha Siddha Guru Dr Managurunathan’s life story is filled with many miracles and mystical events. We explore a very short version here.

Born in Attur Taluk, Salem District, Selvakumar lived a secluded life, assisting his father in tailoring. In 1990, seeking change, he left intending to reach Mumbai, but fate led him to Rishikesh. Constantly starving and exhausted, he attempted suicide in the Ganges River—then unexpectedly, a Tamil-speaking person called out to him, “Hey, what are you doing here? Come here!”

A woman was walking toward Managurunathan with him. The couple were none other than the Guru Sri Kakabujandar Maharishi and his wife, Bhakula Devi, who are said to have lived for hundreds of thousands of years and are still alive today. He still lives in Rishikesh, and the general public unknowingly calls him “Baba.” Managurunathan’s spiritual father.

Baba quickly pulled him to the Ganges River and immersed him twice. Initially, Managurunathan felt angry and scared and scolded him with various bad words. But when Baba also immersed himself in the water a third time, chanted holy mantras, and initiated Managurunathan underwater, Managurunathan calmed down. This marked his first spiritual awakening. They moved to a forest near Rishikesh, where he practiced many advanced vidyas for years without food, sleep, or fatigue. Even today, Managurunathan continues to go to Rishikesh to practice at the call of Sri Guru.

He returned to Mumbai and resumed a simple householder’s life. Once every year, he felt a deep inner calling to return to Rishikesh, where Baba would receive him and teach deeper spiritual aspects. Over time, he experienced various samādhic states through continued practice and mastered various aspects of divine knowledge. Babaji gave him the title Sri Vidyaranyar in 2002. Then, in 2013, Managurunathan was awarded the title “Sri Vidyaranya Parabrahma Maha Siddha Guru” by Babaji for completing the Sri Vancha Kalpalatha Ganapathy Upasana Tantra with 444 Chaturthi Homa Pooja continuously for 19 years without interruption.

In August 2015, the Siddha Shakti Guru Mandala began bombarding Managurunathan with orders. They wanted him to pass on their secret spiritual knowledge—things like Sri Vidya Tantra, Panchangni Vidya, Tantra-Kriya (Sexual Alchemy), and even advanced Tantric practices—to seekers of truth, especially youngsters.

But Managurunathan wasn’t having it. He knew how risky this could be in today’s world, so he flatly refused.

Bad call.

The Guru Mandala did not accept any answer. Slowly but surely, they turned his life upside down – sucking his money, destroying his stability, crushing his mind. Soon, in a very short time, he lost everything – money, fame, job. He was left with nothing. It was as if the hero had gone to zero. Just like that-hero to zero.

After various struggles, he founded the Sri Baba Siddhashrama Sabha in September 2021. Later renamed Sri Bala Siddhashram, it is now known as the Sri Vidya Sri Peedam Trust—a non-profit spiritual charitable trust registered in September 2024 and dedicated to initiating genuine aspirants and restoring ancient Tantric wisdom.

He holds an MBA in Operations and Total Quality Management (TQM) and has served as Head of Operations in multinational garment firms. His leadership experience spans across several countries, combining worldly efficiency with spiritual wisdom.

  • Doctor of Letters (Doctorate / முனைவ‌ர்) awarded by the World Classical Tamil University (உலக செம்மொழி தமிழ் பல்கலைகழகம்) for the invention of Sacred Secret Para Shiva Lamp Oil.
  • Recipient of the “Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Award” on the vocation of Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam’s birthday for various social works and responsibilities from National Sevak Samaj, International Open Educational Institution, National Education Trust, and Tamil Nadu Education Trust.
